Designed for Small Group Instruction

This is a small group curriculum focused on reading foundational skills. The curriculum can be used with groups of 3-12 students in 25-minute blocks. It can be used in correlation with a variety of assessments and should be combined with a whole-group reading curriculum.

It was almost surprisingly easy to add the Phonics & Fluency Curriculum. Our classroom teachers have been able to work it in during our small group reading blocks. Our Resource Teachers and Reading Specialists use it for their intervention groups. We were able to train our Instructional Assistants so they can push into classrooms and work with small groups to assist the teachers.

This year, in our second year of implementing the Guided Reading and Phonics and Fluency curricula together, our kindergarten team has seen the highest literacy data in our school history. 100% of kindergarten scholars who have been with us for six or more weeks of instruction are reading on or above grade level.
